The Acorn Man & The Tale of Francis Flute

Mighty Tales Theatre Company

This year, we are once again offering rural schools in Roscommon, the opportunity to host their very own theatre company in their school hall during Lollipops. Mighty Tales are coming to Roscommon to share two fantastic and spell-binding tales with primary school children the length and breadth of the county. “The Acorn Man” is a folk tale with an ecological theme about the life of a humble shepherd, who forested an entire mountain single-handed. Inspired by the popular tale 'The Man Who Planted Trees', the show is essentially a homage to old people and their value in society.   “The Tale of Francis Flute” is a comic piece, concerning the exploits of a harmless fool who is convinced that he is going to marry a beautiful princess. Despite her irascible father and the machinations of a gang of villainous palace guards, he achieves his aim. . . . well, almost.

Wednesday 20th & Thursday 21st October | €2

SEE SAW

Ciotóg

… gently rocking the balance between looking and being looked at, a dance show for and with families with young children...

Let your child lead you in looking at dance. In an intimate and informal environment, with everyone on the floor together, you’re invited to sit down and stretch out as a beautifully intricate and quirkily abstract trio, dances in front, behind, around, over – and maybe even with you! “See Saw” is not only about dancing itself, but how we experience dance, and how every audience influences the dance, to make each performance a unique and special dialogue. Suitable for audiences aged 0 to 100.

Friday 22nd October | 12pm | €3
